Introduction to Rotterdam - Bergambacht
The small town of Bergambacht is located in the west of the Netherlands, around 30kms west of Rotterdam. It has a population in the region of 10,000 inhabitants and is largely a commuter town for Rotterdam and Utrecht, with the latter being approximately 40kms to the northeast. The N210 road passes through Bergambacht and connects the two major nearby cities. The town features shops and a decent selection of restaurants to choose from in the centre. There are a couple of Bergambacht hotels in the town, with more situated by the river which runs to the south of Bergambacht. The nearest airport is around 30 minutes' drive away in Rotterdam, while there is a smaller airport in Utrecht. Running south to north past the town is the N207, which leads to the city of Gouda, around 15kms to the north. Gouda is a popular destination for cheese lovers thanks to its most famous product.
