Introduction to Amsterdam - Bussum
Located around 30kms southeast of the Dutch capital of Amsterdam, Bussum is a commuter town with a population in the region of 30,000 inhabitants. Transport links to Amsterdam are unsurprisingly excellent, with the A1 running just to the north and the Naarden-Bussum Railway Station close to the town centre and just 20 minutes' journey from Amsterdam Central. The nicest area of town is widely regarded as being Spiegel, which is worth having a walk around, while there are also some pretty recreational parks. A trip to the adjoining Naarden to see the fort is a nice day or half-day out, while there are also many cycling routes in and around the town which offer recreation. There are several nice restaurants in the town centre, offering a range of international cuisine including Thai, Indian and Italian, while there is also a variety of bars and a cinema which shows only cultural movies.
