Introduction to Amsterdam - Bultenveldert
Located less than 10kms from the centre of Amsterdam, Bultenveldert is a neighbourhood which was built up as one of the city's southern gardens. The district is home to the Free University Amsterdam and the University Hospital. The area features a large number of green areas, including the Amsterdam Forest and the Amstelpark. There are several metro stations which provide easy access to the city centre and the nearest railway station is less than a kilometre from the centre of Bultenveldert. The main city bypass, the A10, runs just north of the district, offering excellent links into the city as well as other areas of the Netherlands. The area is home to a large Jewish community and houses several synagogues as well as a number of Jewish restaurants, shops and schools.
