Introduction to Saint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles
The Caribbean island of St Maarten is divided in half among two different European countries. The northern half of the island belongs to French Guadeloupe while the southern half is part of the Dutch Netherlands Antilles. The two parts of the island are called simply the Dutch side and the French side.
