Sarangkot: test your skills and climb Sarangkot which is known for being an excellent pre-trek warm-up. However, the hill is not for beginners and is quite a hard work. It is 1,600 metre high and situated on the northern shore of Phewa Lake.
Begnas Lake: enjoy the tranquillity at Begnas Lake perfect for escaping the bustle of the city. A few hotels and characteristic little cafes can be here. Taking a walk around lake is a great way to spend the afternoon as you will be able to observe the daily life of the people in the countryside and you can finish your walk with a picnic by the stunning lake.
Tibetan Camp: visit Tibetan camps and catch a glimpse of those living in exile. There are many well-run camps which will allow you to tour round the monasteries, schools and local shops.
Not only an ideal place for shoppers, the bazaar is also home to many shrines including the Bindhyabasini Mandir which is built on a shady hillock.
Mahendra Gupha: explore the Mahendra Gupha, the large limestone cave which is known locally Chamero Odhaar (house of bats). Explore the stalactites and stalagmites inside the century old cave.
