Alternatively, visitors may prefer to see more of the country and take a bus from Kathmandu, Mugling, or Hetauda to Narayanghat, from where passengers must change to a local service to Tadi Bazar, six kilometres from the park entrance.
By bus: buses to Royal Chitwan National Park ply the Kathmandu-Mugling-Narayanghat Highway. Passengers coming from Kathmandu must change to a local bus at Narayanghat for Tadi Bazar, an hour-long journey.
By road: the Kathmandu-Mugling-Narayanghat Highway and the Mahendra Rajmarg Highway from Hetauda both provide access to the Royal Chitwan National Park. From Kathmandu, the park is about a 7-hour drive via Narayanghat. Foreign drivers must be in possession of an International Driving License.
By air: Yeti Airlines operates flights between Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport and Meghauli and Bharatpur airports, as do selected other airlines including Nepal and Gorkha airlines. Bharatpur Airport is the main gateway to Royal Chitwan National Park. From both airports, local transport is available to take visitors to the park.
