Introduction to Pokhara - Mountainside
Pokhara is a large city in Nepal set in a popular region for trekking as many Annapurna treks depart from this point. To access the region, you can travel by bus from the capital city of Kathmandu, with services departing every 15 minutes until the afternoon. Once you have arrived, you can get around by bicycle and there are many places to hire bicycles at a small cost. Another option is to rent a scooter; if you choose this option, you will need to buy your own diesel. There are numerous Pokhara Mountainside hotels to choose from in the north of the city which provide a peaceful night's sleep as well as stunning views of some of the globe's highest mountains. Once you have settled in, you can visit the nearby sites including World Peace Pagoda, from where views over Phewa Tal lake to the south of the city are stunning.
