Dhulikhel is part of the Nepalese tourist trail, but it is not the capital or even a major stopping point on this well travelled road. Primarily, it connects the Araniko Highway with Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal and hotels in Dhulikhel tend to be stop off points for this onward journey. Not all Dhulikhel hotels are simply for people looking to rest a while from the road, however, and some are quite atmospheric in their own right. This is a sleepy highway town and a lot of visitors enjoy spending some time here – but two nights is generally enough for most. This is not because hotels in Dhulikhel are at all uncomfortable or unsatisfactory – there is simply too much else to explore in Nepal and most travellers are too busy making bee lines for these attractions to stop off for too long in Dhulikhel which has yet to make its mark on the Nepalese travel scene.
