Tharu cultural shows, the native Tharu still have villages in the area, some of which can be visited. Two-hour guided tours to Bachauli, just east of Sauraha, are available, where you can see a traditional Tharu stick dance performed. Evening performances including dance and music are also held nightly at the Tharu Cultural Program Hall in Sauraha.
