Introduction to Karas, Namibia
In Namibia’s south is the country’s largest region, Karas. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and east, the Atlantic Ocean to the west and to the north is the Namibian region of Hardap. It is mostly visited for the Karas Mountains, which is an area of extreme natural beauty with great facilities for hikers, climbers and others who love outdoor activities. The Namib-Naukluft National Park is partly in this region, and many hotels in Karas are close to the National Park, which is one of the main tourist attractions it the area. Tours to the park focus on wildlife viewing and trekking, and can be arranged in most of the larger towns. The region’s major cities such as Karasburg and Berseba have an excellent range of amenities geared towards travellers including restaurants and shops. This is where most visitors stay, using them as a base for exploring the more rugged countryside.other spellings: karashotels, garas otel, karras hotell, keras hotell, karas hote, kares hotle
