Introduction to Erongo, Namibia
Erongo is a region of the African country of Namibia. It is in the west of the country and is one of four regions that are on the coast. Many tourists visit this scenic and relatively unknown area to visit the famous Erongo Mountain, which is famous throughout Namibia. Yet it is not a tourist region as such and so hotels in Erongo can be hard to find. It is a part of the Skeleton Coast, and Skeleton National Park, Namib-Naukluft National Park and Tsiseb Conservancy are all at least partly within the region. The largest towns of the region, such as Omaruru, Swakopmund and Karibib, have offer the majority of the area’s tourist amenities. Exploring the fabulous natural areas of this part of the country is a main reason for visiting, with the Atlantic coast complementing the scenic inland areas perfectly. The beaches at Swakopmund and Langstrand offer the best swimming spots for tourists.
