March heralds the beginning of the hot season which stretches until May and sometimes even June. In general, April is the hottest month with temperatures soaring to about 40°C.
The monsoon season brings heavy rains to the country from the middle of May until mid-October. During this time, many areas are prone to flooding especially in September when the rains are at their heaviest.
