Eating and drinking: there are more than 30 different restaurants to enjoy a fine meal in. A wide variety of international and regional cuisine is available in top-class establishments including Italian, Indian and Thai. Fast food is available and it is always a treat to experience tasty snacks at one of the local teashops.
Cultural events: Burmese classical dance performances can be seen at the National Theatre. Listings can be obtained from hotels and in the newspapers. Several hotels have dinner shows with entertainment in the form of traditional music, dance or acrobatics.
Courses: several monasteries in Yangon offer meditation courses ranging from a few days to a few hours. Burmese Thai Boxing courses are also offered but these courses last for a minimum of two days and participants are only introduced to a few basic techniques.
