The airport is equipped with a full range of facilities for passengers. You can take a taxi from the airport to the city centre or to your hotel. Alternatively, buses no. 10 and 12 can also get you downtown in a hassle-free manner.
By train: you can also hop on a train from Yangon to Mandalay. The journey takes about 16 hours. There are three trains provided everyday. If you have to travel far, it is highly recommended that you take the express train, which is very new and comfortable with reclining seats. Ordinary trains are not quite impressive. If you want to drive, the highway is more than 700kms long and you should make a break at Taungoo or at Meiktila where you can find a handful of hotels to stay.
