Ngwe Saung hotels are part of one of the country’s newest beach resort towns, which was officially opened in the year 2000. Ngwe Saung is around 500kms south west of the capital city of Yangon and the nearby Chaung Tha Beach is a very popular middle class holiday beach strip. Many of the new hotels in Ngwe Saung have been built with rich foreign tourists in mind and the area is very popular with visiting Japanese and Chinese holiday makers. Rooms in Ngwe Saung hotels are often booked out but new construction suggests that this shortfall will be made up sooner rather than later. Ngwe Saung is not the night life nexus that many of the surrounding beach towns tend to be. This is a quieter and family oriented beach resort and it is also very popular with honeymooner who appreciate its laid back pace and lack of flashy night time options. These however are easily reached by taxi.
