Tangier Travel Guide - Getting There
By ferry: the proximity of mainland Europe means that taking a ferry is a good way of reaching Tangier. There are regular crossings to Algeciras and Gibraltar. The port is conveniently located beside the medina, and taxis are available from the nearby rank.
By bus: several private companies offer long distance buses to destinations throughout Morocco. Tangier has two bus stations; the one near the port is mainly for CTM buses, while the station at place Jamia el-Arabia is used by most of the other companies.
By air: Boukhalef Souahel Airport is located eight miles from the city centre, and offers a limited number of routes and airlines including Royal Air Maroc, British Airways, Iberia and Regional Airlines. Taxis are the best way of reaching the city from the airport and the prices are generally fixed. Buses are also available.
