Wax Parade in Sale: although this festival does not take place in Rabat, Sale is near Rabat and is worth visiting, especially during the festive times. Locals join the Wax Parade the day before the celebration of Aid el-Mawlid, the Prophet. May Festivals
Festival Mawazine: also known as the World Rhythm Festival, this renowned festival injects some oomph into this quiet city. A number of stages appear everywhere in Rabat, both open-air and under the tents. Notable places to see these events are around the Chellah and the Triangle de Vue Park. Expect to see and hear various kinds of music from Morocco, Africa, Europe, South America and the Middle East. This event takes place every year in mid-May. | |
