Marrakech has a more relaxed attitude towards alcohol and drinking laws so you should be able to find somewhere in the city that suits your needs. Most of the tourist areas have a selection of bars, discos and lounges where you can watch professional belly-dancing shows.
Undoubtedly the main place to head for is the lively and fascinating Djemaa El Fna, which comes alive after dark. The square is awash with street entertainers, storytellers, dancers and magicians, and the atmosphere is unlike anywhere else. Make it a priority to visit at the beginning of your stay as you will probably want to return more than once.
Gamblers might like to chance their hand and roll the dice at the city's casinos. Most of them are in hotels and are professionally-run establishments. Mamounia Casino is one of the best and is located in Hotel La Mamounia. It offers blackjack, craps and roulette, among other games.
The casino inside Es Saadi Hotel may not be of quite the same standard but it's still a good place to go and there are plenty of games available. There is no entrance fee for either of the casinos but you must be dressed smartly and be prepared for large stakes.
