Marrakech (Marrakesh) Travel Guide

Getting Around

Getting Around Marrakech (Marrakesh)
Bus: urban buses are operated by the national bus company CTM, as well as several smaller companies. Most services start and terminate at the main bus station on place el Mouarabitene near Bab Doukkala on the north-western part of the old city. Buses cover the entire city and run from early morning to late at night, but they can be very crowded and hot at peak times. Fares are paid to the driver when boarding. There is a useful service running from Gueliz to Jemaa-el-Fna.
Taxi: standard taxis are known as 'petites taxis' and are normally small hatchback cars like the Fiat Unos. They can be hailed on the street and fares should be agreed upon before your journey starts. Hotels can also arrange taxi pick-ups. Grand taxis are old Mercedes cars that operate on fixed routes for a set fare.
