Located in western Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean, Casablanca is the largest city in the country and home to nearly four million people. It lies in the most fertile part of Morocco in an area of major mineral deposits, known as the Maroc Utile. Casablanca has become a significant industrial and economical city, similar to others found in southern Europe.
