Casablanca (Kasablanca) Travel Guide
Bus: most visitors to Casablanca choose not to use the local bus system as it is confusing and crowded. There are several different companies providing services, covering the majority of the city and its suburbs. Different types of vehicles are used and numerous stations serve one or more of the companies, making it more difficult for tourists to understand.
It can also be hard to work out exactly where each bus is going. The main bus station is located in the city centre and it has frequent services to coastal towns including Azemmour, el-Jadida and Safi Essaouira.
Fares at night have a 20 per cent surcharge. Taxi services are also provided by the old, white-coloured Mercedes-Benz sedans, known as grand taxis. They usually operate on set routes proving a minibus-type service, although they can be privately hired by the hour or day. Shared taxis travel between various cities and hold up to six passengers, but they are not allowed to ply for hire within the city.
