Azemmour: is a quiet coastal town that sits on the banks of the Oum Er-Rbia river, 60 miles southwest of Casablanca. It dœesn’t receive many visitors, yet it is well known in Morocco for its beautiful embroidery products. The city walls were built by the Portuguese and are largely intact.
They are best viewed by crossing to the other side of the river. The old Jewish town (mellah) is a pleasant place to stroll around, and bird-watchers will enjoy the many different species found at the river mouth.
The surviving Portuguese buildings include the gothic Church of the Assumption, and the underground cistern which resembles a church crypt. The beach is popular with Casablanca residents during the summer months but you will always be able to find a quiet spot as it stretches for miles. It is lined with an attractive promenade that is dotted with shops and cafes.
Rabat: is the capital of Morocco and can be visited on a daytrip from Casablanca. About a million people live in Rabat, making it the second biggest city in the country. It is an elegant city that has plenty of historical monuments and museums, including the Palace Museum, the Bouknadel and its Jardins Exotiques, and the Roman ruins at Chellah.
