Introduction to Tangier - City Centre
Tangier is one of the most-visited Moroccan cities, not to mention one of the most fascinating. Easily accessed by air or sea, it has unspoilt beaches, friendly people, a sense of mystery and a long and interesting history reflected in its mix of Spanish, French and North African cultures. Tangier's international airport is located just 12kms from the city centre, with its Medina and main Boulevard Mohamed V, where many Tangier City Centre hotels are located. The city is relatively compact and easy to get around on foot or in petit taxis. Tangier's Kasbah, with its meandering streets, Islamic architecture and Sultan's palace - now the Kasbah Museum - are all in the Medina. A short walk away is Boulevard Mohamed VI, the promenade along the beachfront and a great place for an evening stroll to admire the sunset.
