Not all hotels in Ouarzazate look over the sets of films such as Lawrence of Arabia or Gladiator but films like that have been shot here since the 1960s. This large centre in the centre south region of Morocco is incredibly picturesque and the evocative imagery of the area is no doubt why so many film makers have chosen to film here. Some hotels in Ouarzazate are very low budget and the comforts ehre are not to be underestimated since a little money can go a long way here. Private en suite rooms with stained glass windows and lovely wooden furniture can be had for quite a modest price. Other Ouarzazate hotels are more upmarket and as elsewhere in Morocco, visitors can lay out quite a lot of money and in exchange, spend a night in utter luxury and some of the most amazing hotels here offer roofless rooms that, at the right time of year, open up to a beautiful ceiling of stars.
