The small coastal village of Mirhleft (Mirleft) is just north of the Canary Islands on the Atlantic coast, where French and Spanish fortresses overlook the town from the surrounding hills. Mirhleft neighbours Tiznit to the west, a city known for its modern and antique silver goods. To the north is Agadir, Morocco's most developed tourist resort, and east of Agadir is Taroudant, an ancient walled city. Sidi Ifni to the south is a town with a Spanish Art Deco flavour that is not to be missed. Back in town, Mirhleft hotels are within easy access to a handful of small beaches that are popular for surfing, paragliding, and horseback riding. Just a short walk south of town unveils a beach that is almost always empty, Albergo de la Plage, and a few kilometres further south takes visitors to Legzira, the surfers' choice. Mirhleft has a large souk that sells fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, crab and octopus daily, and expect these ingredients to be used in the local restaurants. Not yet built up to its resort potential, this charming town maintains a true Moroccan style and offers relaxation to those who know where to look.
