Introduction to Marrakech - Agdal
The Agdal quarter of the Moroccan city of Marrakech is south of the city centre medina and its famed Place Djemaa El Fna. The district is home to the Agdal Gardens. The central bus terminus is at the north end of the gardens and the city's international airport is three kilometres west. There are a number of Agdal hotels in the quarter, with a cluster between Avenue Mohammed VI and the park, and another concentration in the environs of the bus station. Due to its proximity to transport hubs, the district is a great stopover location for visitors travelling onwards into the High Atlas Mountains or over to the Atlantic Ocean coast. The area has reasonable infrastructure, with an air-conditioned shopping centre, souvenir shops and a lot of local cafes and eateries. On the opposite side of the park there are three golf courses. The city's souks in the medina are dotted around its central square and within walking distance for the fit or a quick taxi journey for the weary. Visit our Marrakech Travel Guide
