Introduction to Agadir, Morocco
The southwest Moroccan city of Agadir is a favourite destination for visitors from Europe for its beach life and convenience of low-cost air access from most major northern European cities. Located in the south of the country and surrounded by the Anti-Atlas peaks, the Sahara Desert, secluded beaches and many areas of natural beauty, the city itself has only a limited range of attractions apart from its well-set up and generally uncrowded beach. For surfers, it's an interesting destination, with Omesouane Bay, Cro-Cro, Ankhor Point and Devil's Rock the best sites as well as lots of surf schools and camps. The Museum Municipal du Patrimoine Amazigh is well worth a visit, with its fascinating collection of Berber jewellery, old manuscripts, traditional attire and musical instruments. Agadir hotels, from basic to bungalow-style beach resort, cater for all budgets and a selection of deserted beaches lie a few kilometres away from the city. All the touristic areas in this Islamic city serve alcohol to visitors. Visit our Agadir Travel Guide
