Introduction to Veracruz - Beach
Veracruz is one of the most ethnically diverse cities on the Gulf of Mexico. Tourism here centres almost entirely on its massive port, which hosts cruise ships carrying travellers as they explore the Caribbean side of Mexico. Of the more than 1,000 places to stay in this city, several of them are Veracruz Beach hotels that cater to tourists seeking sun and sand. There are a few interesting tourist attractions around Veracruz Beach and the adjacent port district, such as an aquarium and historic sites like San Juan de Ulua Fort and Santiago Fortress. While Veracruz Beach is an obvious component of the city's waterfront area, the beach here isn't ideal for swimming. However, visitors who venture to the beach will find plenty of local action, with kids playing and donkey rides on offer.
