Tlaxcala is a tiny part of Mexico with a small population and a wealth of historical attractions. Major archaeological sites draw tourists, students and researchers from all over the world. Here, Mayan ruins and pyramids can be explored and the brightly coloured murals that are a feature of the ruins at Cacaxtla are incredibly well preserved and the coloured tiles and stones remain bright and vivid in the present day.
