Introduction to Tijuana, Mexico
Lively Tijuana is the king of all border towns. Rowdy tequila bars and gaily-coloured souvenir stands greet thousands of tourists who pour across the border crossing with the United States every day. Tijuana hotels are many since this is the first port of call for many travellers on package tours through the southern part of California who want a side trip across the border. In general, hotels in Tijuana are generic motels with mid range comforts and prices. However, more upscale accommodations can be found quite easily and more atmospheric, lower scale outfits are here in abundance too. The festive atmosphere of Tijuana extends to the friendliness of many locals who work in hospitality here in town.
