Introduction to Morelia, Mexico
The Centro Historico - historical centre - of Morelia is the main attraction for tourists and also archaeologists and many hotels in Morelia are located nearby. Stupendous colonial monuments line every block of the district but in the historical centre these are particularly prolific. The Casa de las Artesanias is near to many lodgings and the Cathedral overshadows several other smaller monuments and buildings. The entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and so as a result many lodgings are very quaint and old fashioned. Family run and comfortable, the standard of properties is quite high but visitors expecting high levels of five star service and luxury may be disappointed here since the housings in town are at least a step down from that level. A very popular golf centre, there are three golf courses and one was designed by legendary champion Jack Nicklaus.
