Introduction to Mazatlan - City Centre
Mazatlan city is famed for its fine beaches and has been a favourite tourism and retirement destination for North Americans and Europeans for a number of years. The Centro Historico, Mazatlan's old city, has beautiful plazas and streets lined with 18th century mansions and commercial buildings. El Mercado, the massive traditional market, is set in the centre, offering everything from crafts, local foods, fruit and fresh produce in a 19th century building close to the jewel of the city, Machado Square. The nightlife in the city centre's clubs, music and entertainment venues is more than vibrant, giving Mazatlan a great reputation as a party city. Mazatlan City Centre hotels are booked solid for the annual five-day festival and at the American Spring Break when the city is packed with students from all over the US. Easter Week is also a busy time, with Mexicans arriving from all over the country.Visit our Mazatlan Travel Guide
