Introduction to Manzanillo - City Centre
The Mexican city of Manzanillo's best known feature is its port, the busiest in the country, set in the province of Colima on the Pacific Ocean. Manzanillo is also a beach resort city famed for its hosting of the exciting annual deep sea Sailfish Tournament. A destination resort in its own right, the city's hotels are set both in the city centre and along the beaches either side of its Santiago peninsula, along with a few luxury resorts. The city centre is right by the busy port and there is a mile-long promenade, the Malecon, perfect for strolling and admiring the various pieces of sculpture located here. The town square, or Jardin area, is great for people watching and hosts band concerts in the cooler months. Avenida Mexico, leading off this square, is full of shops with all kinds of admittedly touristy goods on offer. Manzanillo City Centre hotels in the pretty colonial old town offer upscale accommodation with good restaurants and lively nightlife for visitors into golf or sports- and deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling and other water sports. Restaurants in the city centre serve everything from traditional Mexican dishes to the world's most famous international cuisines, and clubs and bars stay open till the morning hours.other spellings: manzanillohotels, manzanilo otel, manzanello hotell, manazanillo hote, mansanilo
