Introduction to Guadalajara - Tlaquepaque
Tlaquepaque is a city to the southeast of Guadalajara, in east-central Mexico. Due to the aggressive growth of Guadalajara itself, the city has been swallowed up and is now considered part of the wider conurbation. However, Tlaquepaque is still a tourist destination in its own right, with a number of attractions which might appeal to visiting tourists. The city is just 30 minutes from the centre of Guadalajara, meaning that many travellers decide to stay there and visit the city on a daytrip. However, there are plenty of Tlaquepaque hotels, making it well worth staying a little longer in order to make the most of the city. The city has a village feel and is most famous for its arts and crafts, particularly ceramics. There are plenty of opportunities to buy these ceramics or just learn more about them at the dedicated museums. Visitors should make sure they visit the Parian, a collection of restaurants and bars where live music is often put on. The city is just 20 minutes' drive from Libertador Miguel Hidalgo International Airport.Visit our Guadalajara Travel Guide
