Introduction to Moka, Mauritius
The town of Moka lies on the eastern coasts of the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. It is separated from Port Louis, the capital, by the nature reserve that is home to the 800 metre high Le Pouce Mountain. From the mountain's summit, breath-taking views of Port Louis and the surrounding Indian Ocean can be enjoyed. This town is a fairly modern establishment with a great selection of Moka hotels, resorts, restaurants and bars, as well as the island's university and hospitals. The capital itself boasts the full suite of tourist attractions, including a 200-year-old citadel, Chinatown, museums, well preserved colonial buildings and a traditional hawker's bazaar. Other tourist sites such as the Maheshwarnath Mandir Hindu edifice, the fabulous Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Gardens, nightlife establishments at Fond du Sac, Black Georges National Park and Le Morne Mountain lie within easy distance. On the coast, Tamarin Bay features a lovely beach that is very popular with surfers, while the sheltered lagoon at the foot of Le Morne is great for family swimming. other spellings: mokahotels, mogka otel, mokka hotell, hotelin mukka, moka hote, hotle in moka, moka
