By boat: if you’re travelling from Sicily as part of a Mediterranean tour, then boats or catamarans are available over to Valletta and these take 4 hours or 90 minutes, respectively. Prices for the crossing generally make it more expensive than flying but once you arrive it’s a straightforward 20-minute taxi or bus ride up the north-eastern coast to St Paul’s Bay.
By air: Malta Air is the main operator of scheduled flights to the island although most visitors heading to St Paul’s Bay will most likely be on a chartered flight as part of a summer package deal. Clickair and Ryanair also fly here from Spain, England and Ireland. Most package tour travellers to St Paul’s Bay will not have to worry about travel to and from the airport, a journey of about 45 minutes, as connections will likely be included.
