Few other convenient ways of getting here exist although it is possible to catch a boat over to the Maltese capital Valletta from the nearby Italian island of Sicily just to the north.

By boat: it is possible to reach the east coast of Malta across the sea from Sicily by either taking the boat, which takes four hours, or the much faster catamaran which arrives in just 90 minutes but won’t do the crossing in bad weather. Both dock at Valletta and from there it’s about 20 minutes by bus or taxi to St George’s Bay.
