Located on the north-eastern coast of the main island, St Paul’s Bay is a full-fledged tourist resort even if, like much of Malta, it lacks its own sandy beach. The place comes alive in the summer and is geared towards tourists with its many restaurants and bars. St Paul’s Island more like two islets that become separated during high tide, this is where the apostle St Paul ended up shipwrecked, according to the Bible. The island has remained uninhabited for decades. It is possible to take boat trips out to the island and diving is a popular activity in its vicinity.
