Mdina in Malta boasts one of the finest entries to a town that you will ever see. To enter the town, you must cross a bridge which spans the old moat where at the other side stands an arch built with magnificent mantle. Mdina is a medieval walled town located on a hill in central Malta. It was the former capital and now commonly referred to as the 'Silent City' due to the fact that there is limited access for cars. The quaint, narrow streets in Mdina are lined with attractive buildings, many residential but also a few shops and restaurants. One of the most interesting buildings in the town is the cathedral, where the floor is lined with memorial tablets and the beautiful stained-glass windows stand out.
