Tioman Island Travel Guide - Activities

The beaches: are what draw most of the tourists to Tioman Island. There are several stretches of beautiful palm fringed beaches, white powder soft sand and azure waters. Monkey Bay is one of the more quiet and secluded beaches. Popular beaches are also located around the villages of Genting, Salang, Tekek, Air Batang and Juara.
Golf: is offered at the Berjaya Tioman Beach Golf and Spa Resort. The 18 hole course is absolutely stunning because of the views it offers. Playing golf here can be quite challenging as this has been designed to be an international championship golf course.
Walking/Trekking: is a pleasant way to see the island as there are several paths leading to friendly villages and secluded beaches. Paths also lead into jungles and end at beautiful cascading waterfalls where there are pools to rest and swim. The locals are more than happy to guide tourists into the jungles and point out lots of birds and animals for a few ringgit.
Water sports: including jet skiing, para-sailing, a ride on a banana boat or glass bottomed boat, kayaking, sailing, winds surfing and fishing (deep sea and night), are all available at the island. There are many reliable tour operators that are more than willing to accommodate the individual needs of travellers.
