The beaches: at Pangkor are remarkably beautiful with soft sand that leads into azure waters, monkey chattering on nearby coconut trees and plenty of warm sunshine to enjoy give the beaches an air of tranquillity. The best beach is the Pasir Giam Beach which is quite secluded and where the waters are warm and clear and fish often nibble at your toes as you stand in the water. Other picturesque fairly quiet beaches include the ones at Pantai Puteri Dewi, Teluk Nipah and Teluk Cempedak.
Golf: is available at the Pan Pacific Resort which has an 18 hole mini golf course. The course is well maintained and offers some good views. On the mainland, close to Pulau Pangkor, the Damai Laut Golf & Country Club and the Royal Teluk Rubiah Country Club offer more challenging courses.
Shopping: at Pulau Pangkor is quite interesting as the town has only one main street. However, there are many shops and restaurants selling local and western food that has been mostly ‘Malaysianised’. At night many stalls are set up by the beaches and these sell all sorts of items from batek, clothes, fruits, drinks, foods to slippers, large beach sized towels, goggles and many other things that have been made from coconut husks and shells.
Trekking: is a lovely experience here as paths lead into jungles and end at lovely waterfalls which have pools big enough for a dip or a short swim while revelling in the cacophony of the jungle animals. There are paths that are quite long and steep but there are also gentler paths that take the trekker along the beaches, occasionally wondering into the cool of the dense jungles and coming out to be greeted by the ocean.
