Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide
Eating and drinking: the options for eating out in Kuala Lumpur are excellent, what with the many different varieties of ethnic foods available including Malay, Chinese, and Indian just for starters. Western food is also available at a multitude of restaurants, while seafood and fresh tropical fruits are in abundance. Generally, eating out in KL is a great experience and you can spend as little or as much as you like, from star-rated establishments to hawker stalls; all budgets are catered for.
Shopping: Kuala Lumpur’s many street markets and Chinatown offer the best in the way of a true Asian shopping experience, with all the noise, smells, bargains and general bustle of a typical South East Asian capital. If it all gets a bit much or is too hot, there are several glitzy shopping malls in the city that are fully air-conditioned and very comfortable.
Spas: many of the larger hotel complexes and resorts will offer a spa service, which can be the most sublime experience after a days’ shopping and sightseeing in a super-humid city like Kuala Lumpur. One of the best hotels that offer spa services is the Shangri-la Hotel Kuala Lumpur that features a range of spa treatments, such as aromatherapy, massage, hydrotherapy, and skin polishing at the Clarins spa.
In addition, spa services can also be found in one or two of KL’s top fitness centres, including at the Sweat Club, which offers beauty and body treatments, as well as body wraps and massage.
