Introduction to Tioman Island, Malaysia
Tioman Island is a small paradise located off the eastern coast of Peninsula Malaysia. It is not densely populated, with just a few Tioman Island hotels to choose from, yet is considered a romantic vacation destination. The island is surrounded by several coral reefs, making it a good scuba diving and snorkelling destination. The waters around the island are an amazing, clear turquoise and the beaches are unspoilt, helping the island achieve status as one of the top beach resorts in the world. Probably the most popular beach is Juara, where three rivers flow into the ocean, delivering cold, refreshing water. Visitors can take turns swimming in the ocean and the river! From the beach, it is possible to explore the jungle that backs it via a designated path. This path leads to the Juara Turtle Project, which is working to protect turtles, and visitors can volunteer at fixed times.
