Introduction to Pangkor, Malaysia
Pangkor, or Pulau Pangkor, is a small island off the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, near the town of Lumut. There are several Pangkor hotels to choose from, some being extremely luxurious. There is no bridge to the mainland, so visitors can only access the island by boat. The island is known to have some of the best beaches and whitest sand on the western coast of Malaysia and is a popular destination for locals as well as international visitors. There is not particularly much to see on the island itself, as many visitors come here to enjoy world-class beaches like Pasir Bogak and Golden Sand Bay and the many water sports on offer. However, there are several small fishing villages on the east side of the island, with buildings on stilts and traditional boat making, which are worth a visit. The main town on the island is Pangkor Town, but it is made up of pretty much one street. There are few shops and restaurants here.Visit our Pangkor Travel Guide
