Introduction to Miri - Outskirts
Miri, in Eastern Malaysia's Sarawak, in the northeast of the island of Borneo, is known as the northern gateway to Sarawak. No fewer than four great national parks surround the coastal town. They are: Niah National Park, Mount Mulu National Park, Lambir Hills National Park and Loagan Bunut National Park. Also nearby, Gunung Mulu National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site, particularly because of its Sarawak Chamber, the biggest natural cave chamber in the world. Miri hotels are set in a simple town that is best used as a launching pad for excursions into the bush. As if that wasn't enough greenery, Miri is also home to 14 public parks and recreational grounds. The most popular of them are Miri Bulatan Park, which features a lake; and Luak Bay Esplanade, a seafront park. The Miri Reef is a dream destination for snorkellers and divers, or check out the Petroleum Museum, which explains the importance of the industry to the area.other spellings: mirihotels, mirih otel, miri hotell, meri hote, miiri hotles, hotes in mire
