Introduction to Melaka - Ayer Keroh
Melaka, a Malaysian city in a state of the same name, sits on the coast of the Malacca Strait, where it offers some very pretty beaches and an impressive mix of history, culture and eating. Hotels in Ayer Keroh put visitors in a popular town to the north of the city, in an area recently made popular by a range of attractions. One of the longest-standing attractions is the historic area of old Melaka Town, which is a few minutes to the south and contains many fine historic buildings from colonial times, as well as the region's great Baba Nyonya culture. The Baba Nyonya Museum is housed in one of these Peranakan homes. Nearby, Mini Malaysia and Mini ASEAN Park is home to a collection of small-scale representations of various traditional homes from around both Malaysia and ASEAN. Melacca Zoo, which sits next to the Air Keroh Country Club, is only a few minutes away and also now offers a night zoo.
