The National Monument is a massive bronze structure commemorating soldiers who fought and died for Malaysia and includes seven soldiers holding up the flag of Malaysia to represent seven virtues, including: unity, strength, leadership, sacrifice, courage, suffering and vigilance. This very photogenic piece was sculpted by master sculptor Felix de Weldon, who also created the Iwo Jima Memorial statue in Virginia, USA.
