Introduction to Kuala Lumpur - Ampang
Featuring fabulous views of the city and a host of excellent places to eat out, Kuala Lumpur's Ampang is a bustling area in the east of the Malaysian capital that extends into the neighbouring province of Selangor. The heart of this area is the immaculate Royal Selangor Golf Club, an 18-hole course with a host of leisure facilities. Given the area is home to a number of foreign embassies, the shopping, restaurants and leisure facilities here are excellent. The Middle Eastern cuisine in Ampang is considered by locals to be the best in the city, while there is also very good Korean food to be found in the area as it is also home to Little Korea. For something a bit more authentic, try Ampang yong tau foo, a popular local dish of stuffed bean curd. Many Ampang hotels offer four and five-star quality at very reasonable prices, given the area is some way out of the centre.Visit our Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide
