Introduction to Kota Kinabalu - Airport
Kota Kinabalu International Airport is the second busiest airport in Malaysia, serving as the primary gateway into Sabah and Borneo. The two terminals contain a full range of passenger amenities, including numerous choices for eating and shopping. Located about seven kilometres from the city of Kota Kinabalu, the airport services regular daily flights to Kuala Lumpur with AirAsia and Malaysian Airlines. There are no Kota Kinabalu Airport hotels on site, but with several convenient transport options to get from the airport into the city, it's easy to stay right in town. Kota Kinabalu is a good departure point for scuba diving and snorkelling trips in the area. Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, just south of the city, is great for up-close wildlife watching, while Monsopiad Cultural Village showcases the traditional life of the indigenous people of Sabah.
