Introduction to Cameron Highlands, Malaysia
Made popular by the British, the hill stations of the Cameron Highlands were used as an escape from the heat in Kuala Lumpur during the colonial days. Today, this area remains popular among locals, ex-pats and visitors, with many resorts, golf clubs and casinos having sprung up. The area is still lush and green, with much of it covered by tea plantations, which are well worth visiting. The Boh Tea Centre is probably the most popular. Natural attractions tend to be the key draws here, with Mount Brinchang being the highest point. The Mossy Forest is a must-visit and as the name suggests, it is covered in moss. Parit Waterfall is worth trekking to. Considered to be one of the main attractions in the area is the local museum, which showcases memorabilia from throughout the area's history. Cameron Highlands hotels are mostly located along the 59 and C7 roads.Visit our Cameron Highlands Travel Guide
